Schedule of Summer Reading Programs

Programs are free and are intended for children registered for summer reading logs. All programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Lawrence Library. Programs do not require registration unless otherwise noted. No telephone registration will be accepted; please register in-person only. Due to space issues and the demand for programs, group and outreach requests can not be accommodated in the summer.

Catch the Reading Bug Reading Log Directions for children up to age 11

The summer reading program is a for-fun reading incentive program that takes place from June 23 to August 8. FREE. Ages 12 and up can participate in our teen summer program “Metamorphosis @ Your Library.”

  1. Visit the Lawrence Library summer reading registration table.

  2. Sign your name to receive a reading log, bookmark and a reading incentive bag.

  3. As you read during the summer, write down the titles of each book in your log.

  4. Visit the registration table weekly to receive a prize.

  5. Stamp your reading log and report the number of books you have read.

*All genres of books can be read for credit; they do not have to be library books.
*Caregivers may read to younger children and maintain their log.
*You can collect one prize per week; the new week begins every Monday.
*Prizes are not awarded for missed check-in weeks.
*Chapters can be reported for a weekly prize if a book has not been completed.
