Astronomy and Space Science
All students will gain an understanding of the origin, evolution, and structure of the universe.
The study of science should include a study of the planet Earth and its relationship to the rest of the universe. This standard describes what students should know about astronomy and space science.
What is astronomy?
Astronomy, branch of science that studies the motions and natures of celestial bodies, such as planets, stars, and galaxies; more generally, the study of matter and energy in the universe at large. -Columbia Encyclopedia
