Population Index, published since 1935, is the primary reference tool to
the world's population literature. It presents an annotated bibliography
of recently published books, journal articles, working papers and other materials on population topics. This website provides a searchable
and browsable database containing 42,662 abstracts of demographic
literature published in Population Index in the period 1986-1999.
State Data Centers
This site provides links to state data centers for all 50 states in the
U.S. Since 1978, the State Data Center (SDC) Program has provided
training and technical assistance in accessing and using census data
for research, administration, planning and decision making by the
government, the business community, university researchers and other
interested data users. The Business and Industry Data Center (BIDC)
Program, initiated in 1988, supports the business community by expanding
SDC services to government, academic and non-profit organizations that
