Birth of the Movies - West Windsor Branch

Before there was Hollywood, there was New Jersey
What did the first moving picture look like?
How did the movies go from an astonishing novelty to a way to tell stories?

Kate Gallison, author of several mysteries, shows all this and more in her illustrated lecture. She will also read from The Edge of Ruin, a tale of movie-making in Fort Lee, NJ, that she wrote under the name of Irene Fleming. Copies are available for purchase through the Friends of the Library.
