Franny and Zooey is two interrelated stories by J.D. Salinger, which were
originally published in The New Yorker and then published in book form in 1961.
The stories concern Franny and Zooey Glass, two members of the family that was
the subject of most of Salinger's short fiction.

novel. It depicts the formative years in the life of Stephen Dedalus, a
fictional alter ego of Joyce and a pointed allusion to the consummate craftsman
of Greek mythology, Daedalus. The novel traces the intellectual and religious
and philosophical awakening of young Stephen Dedalus as he begins to question
and rebel against the Catholic and Irish conventions in which he has been
raised.

stability. An ominous warning to the world's population, this literary classic
