Program Calendar for Children - May 2008

The Library will be closed Sunday, May 11, for Mother’s Day and Thursday, May 22 for staff training. The Library will also be closed Saturday, May 24, Sunday, May 25, and Monday, May 26, for Memorial Day Weekend.

New Program: Hindi Bilingual Storytime with Ms. Gita (age 2 to 5) (30 minutes)
A program of stories and crafts designed to teach the beginning basics of the Hindi language, including greetings, alphabet, days of the week, poetry and festivals, for preschoolers and their caregivers. 12:30 pm, Wednesday, May 7, 14, 21, and 28. Weekly Registration required.

Family Movie: Night at the Museum (all ages, parents’ discretion, rated PG)
Saturday, May 31, 2:00-4:00 pm Children 5 years and under must be accompanied by an adult. Sponsored by the Friends of the West Windsor Library No registration required.

Regular Monthly Programs

Sing & Play with Susan Flacks (birth to age 5) (30 minutes).
A sing-along program with guitar and CD music. Action songs and finger plays encourage audience participation. After the music, the children are welcome to stay an additional 30 minutes to color and play with musical instruments. 10:30 am, Friday, May 9, 23, and 30. No registration required.

Books and Babies (ages 1 to 24 months) (30 minutes)
A program of songs, rhymes, movement and simple stories designed to introduce under twos and infants to the library. (This program is one-on-one with your child. Each child must be accompanied by an adult). Since this class has become very crowded, please bring only children 24 months and younger. Thank you for your cooperation.
10:30 am, Monday, May 5, 12, and 19. Please note day change!! No registration required

Toddler Story and Craft (ages 2- 4) (30 minutes)
Age appropriate stories, songs, rhymes, and fingerplays.
10:30 am, Tuesday, May 6, 13, 20, and 27 10:30 am, Wednesday, May 7, 14, 21, and 28 The Tuesday and Wednesday Toddler classes will have the same craft and the same stories. Please attend only one toddler class. This will allow everyone to attend a less crowded class. Thank you for your cooperation. No registration required.

Stories followed by a craft. 10:30 am, Thursday, May 1, 8, 15, and 29 No registration required.

Preschool Story and Craft (ages 4 - 6) (45 minutes)
Picture book stories, music, and a simple craft. Parents and caregivers are asked to remain with the children during the craft portion of the program.
4:00 pm, Tuesday, May 6, 13, 20, and 27 No registration required.

Evening Storytime & Craft (ages 4 to 7) (45 minutes)
Stories followed by a craft. 6:30 pm, Monday, May 12 and 19 No registration required.
