We’ve come a long way !

We’ve come a long way since you used to visit us at our former home in the Ewing Shopping Center. Now you can use our resources to put you in touch with the world! Our card does not come in platinum or gold, but it’s STILL the best gift that you can give to yourself or your child! Don’t leave home without it!

Hello--and welcome to the Ewing Branch of the Mercer County Library System. We are the pride of Ewing, the jewel in its crown. The library is a valuable resource to the community, and our goal is to provide access to information and encourage full participation in our programs and services. Our skilled and professional library staff work diligently to provide materials and services that are designed to inform, educate, and enrich the lives of our diverse community.

Did you know that the Ewing Branch has the largest collection of large print books in the County System? that we offer free introductory computer instruction classes? that you can browse the Internet at the library whether you are a novice or cyber pro? that you can quickly and easily find information in our reference collection? borrow videos, CD’s, DVDs, books on tape and CD FREE OF CHARGE? participate in our book discussion group? enjoy storytelling, craft programs, and special lectures? connect to our online catalog from your home computer through our library’s homepage? study quietly in comfortable rooms designed specifically for that purpose? meet with your civic group in our meeting rooms? view the work of local artists, schools and community groups in our gallery areas? borrow books from virtually any library in America through Interlibrary Loan? enjoy our free movie series for children and adults? take advantage of free tax assistance at the library provided by AARP? get your documents notarized free of charge? receive free email notification for holds and overdues? that free wireless access is now available at the library?

These are just some of the things that can be yours by visiting the library! We invite all members of the Ewing community to come in and browse our excellent adult, young adult and children’s collections--travel to the Great Wall, climb Mt. Everest, relive the sinking of the Titanic, track the stock market, meet the wives of Henry the VIII, learn the recipe for authentic Italian pizza, enjoy Barney, Curious George, and Arthur, scream and gag with R.L. Stine and Stephen King, jam with Wynton Marsalis, learn why the leaning Tower of Pisa leans!

Overdrawn on your checking account? Busted at the bank? Come take advantage of all the FREE services at the library! You are also welcome to join our Friends of the Library group! We’re STILL the best deal in town! Pick up a copy of our programming schedule on your next visit to the library, or look for our schedule of programs in the Ewing Observer and other local papers. You may also view our schedule of activities at webserver.mcl.org. It is our hope that you will become lifelong readers, users and supporters of the library.
